Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers

If I can repair my credit on my own, why would I use a credit repair company?

Ultimately this is a question you must answer on your own. What we can offer is feedback from previous clients and their reasons for engaging us, so here you go:

Time: Some enroll because they simply do not have the time to research, write letters and follow up on the credit repair process. Many who have suffered economic events are working and busier than ever. They need a competent service provider to help facilitate their success. Consider changing the brakes on your car. You could figure out how to do it, but it the best use of your time and are you confident you will stop?

Dispute Logic: Many of our clients have complex cases or “thick” files. Blindly disputing everything negative on a report may considered a deceptive practice. You can also do more harm than good. For example, did you know that disputing a negative attribute of an otherwise positive account may lower your credit scores? Additionally, deceptive disputes may prompt a collector to sue, resulting in the garnishment of wages for years.

Industry Complexity: The credit reporting industry is complex. It’s made up of consumer protection laws, credit scoring models, credit reporting agencies, data furnishers, court houses and more. At CRR, we consider ourselves credit expert. We apply our experience and knowledge so that we can provide the most effective services for clients.

Follow Through: The process of repairing credit takes time and consistent effort. Some files take up to a year to complete. Staying focused and on the task can be challenging. Often, months go by without progress because life happens and we forget to keep working on it. At CRR, we are dedicated to your success. We are proactive and do everything we can to keep you on track moving towards your goals.

Why can’t credit repair companies promise any outcome from their services?

Short answer: It is unlawful and deceptive. Credit repair organizations or CRO’s must adhere to strict regulations. To remain compliant with Federal and State laws, no CRO can promise any results. The why behind the what is important, so listen up!

CRO’s work to verify information on their client’s credit reports. Prior to receiving responses from the credit bureaus and data furnishers, we have no clue how they will respond. Saying we know the outcome is deceptive, abusive, and a practice used by “Bad Actors” to entice consumers. Consider this. If you retain an Attorney for a case, they could be disbarred if they guaranteed you will win. Why would credit repair be any different? Do your homework and make the best choice for you. Our clients enroll with confidence based on our reputation and history of helping our clients accomplish their goals, nothing more.

I was told to never pay a credit repair company fees in advance. Why is this?

Legal restrictions prevent CRO’s from charging advance or upfront payment for their services. CRR stays in compliance with this rule by truly offering FREE reviews, set ups and scheduling of our client’s discovery call. It is not until our clients have signed our terms of service and completed their discovery call that we collect any fees. After that, we perform suites of services for our clients during each month and charge in the rears for the previous month. This is clearly defined within our agreements and disclosed prior to enrollment.

Why can’t you tell me how much my credit scores will improve?

This may be the most important question of all. It is no secret that most of our clients want higher credit scores. We understand this and work hard to help them succeed. However, we want you to read the next sentence carefully. NO CREDIT REPAIR COMPANY CAN SIMPLY RAISE YOUR CREDIT SCORE! Let me repeat, no credit repair company can raise your credit score.
Credit scores are considered risk grades and meant to predict the likelihood we will be delinquent over a 2-year period. To prove we are a good risk, we must pay our debts on time and use our credit responsibly. Credit repair companies cannot do this for their clients. That is why improving your credit score is a team sport. It is very much like diet and exercise. You can diet and lose weight or work out and get strong. Do one and not the other, your results will be minimal. When you combine them both you will improve your results and get in shape fast.
At CRR we apply the diet/exercise approach to our services. We use our aggressive audit methods, the “diet”, and create an effective action plan or “exercise” program for our clients. Consider us your personal credit trainers. When we follow through together, we can get your credit in shape quickly!

How long does it take to repair my credit?

Short Answer: 3-6 months on average.
Credit repair is a process. Each time we dispute an item on our credit reports, the company that we are disputing has 30 days plus mail time to reply with an answer. This timeline is outlined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act or FCRA and called the statute of limitations for dispute resolution.
That is why CRR investigation periods last 40 days. We want to be sure that we give enough time so that our disputes do not overlap and or we do not initiate an improper dispute. If we work together to stay on task, we typically get answers to all disputes in 3-6 months.
It is important to know that for maximum score impact it sometimes takes longer after repair
